Spring / Summer 2012 At EDCI

Did you know that dancers (like any athlete) require year-round training?

Regular weekly practice is essential to keep all dancers healthy and fit during the summer months, in order to maintain muscular strength, flexibility, endurance, stamina, balance and control. While we encourage all of our students to take some much-needed time off during their summer months, we remind all of our dancers of the importance of keeping up your dance training throughout the “off-season” in order to maintain your current technical level upon returning to classes in September.

The amount of summer training required depends on the individual goals and expectations of the dancer. Are you dancing this summer to keep fit and maintain your current technical level? Perhaps you are looking to use this time to improve technically and get ahead, prior to your return to regular classes in September? Maybe you’re hoping to gain additional performance and competitive opportunities next season? Or maybe you’re just looking to try something different, as a beginner in a new dance form this summer?

Whatever your goals this summer, EDCI will be there to help you achieve them; that’s why we’re offering a wide variety of summer programs, including evening classes, day camps and workshop programs, in order to keep our dancers healthy, active and fit while meeting your individual needs.

The regular season may be coming to a close at the end of May, but don’t let all your hard work go to waste by taking three months off your dance training. Find a summer program that works for you; we offer group classes, semi-private and private lessons (available upon request for an additional fee).

Recreational dancers can learn a variety of new dance styles this summer, stay in shape and make new friends, while Intensive/Competitive dancers can continue to develop and take their technical training to the next level.

Please note: all programs offered at EDCI are instructed by highly qualified dance professionals, including all beginner and recreational programs.
